Dental Hygiene
Routine dental check-ups for kids aid in fostering optimal oral health and warding off cavities.
Data from Public Health England (PHE) up to 2019 reveals that nearly 90% of hospital tooth extractions among children aged 0 to 5 in the UK stem from preventable tooth decay.
The objective of a solid oral hygiene regimen is the elimination of plaque, a combination of food particles and bacteria that accumulate on tooth surfaces and along the gum line. Inadequate removal of plaque can lead to oral health issues like gum disease and tooth decay.

Flouride varnish
Fluoride varnish prevents cavities and protects children’s oral health.
Early intervention
Proactively protects children’s first milk teeth, creating a shield against decay from the start.
Cavity prevention
Remineralizes weakened enamel, making teeth resistant to acidic foods and bacteria.
Quick and painless application
The application is a quick, simple, painless procedure, involving the gentle application of fruity gel.
What is Fluoride varnish?
Fluoride is crucial for your child's oral well-being. Insufficient amounts can result in cavities, while excessive intake may lead to fluorosis, characterized by chalky spots on enamel. We carefully determine the appropriate fluoride dosage. This brief, straightforward procedure involves applying a fruity-tasting gel to your child's teeth, which subtly tints them for up to three days.
Fluoride facilitates remineralization, strengthening teeth against acid attacks. It naturally occurs in tap water, various foods, and dental products like toothpaste and mouthwash. Our fluoride varnish ensures optimal dental benefits when combined with a healthy diet and proper oral hygiene practices.
How it works
1
Application
A thin layer of fluoride varnish is professionally painted onto the surfaces of the teeth.
2
Adhesion
The varnish adheres to the enamel, forming a protective coating.
3
Release of fluoride ions.
Over time, the fluoride ions slowly release from the varnish and integrate into the tooth structure.
4
Remineralization
Fluoride promotes remineralization, reinforcing weakened teeth and repairing indications of decay.
5
Cavity prevention and reapplication
Return for reapplication to prevent cavities and contribute to overall oral health.

Fissure sealant
Fissure sealants prevents cavities by creating a smooth tooth surface in back teeth.
Long lasting
The sealant provides protection for three to five years, aiding in the prevention of cavity formation.
Cavity prevention
Sealant is applied to the back teeth to create a smoother surface, preventing food from becoming trapped.
Quick and painless application
The application is a quick, simple, and painless procedure offered to children aged six and above.
What is Fissure sealant?
Dental sealants shield your child's molars by forming a smooth protective layer, which prevents food from getting trapped and lowers the risk of cavities. We can evaluate your child's suitability for sealants and keep track of existing ones.
This treatment is usually administered around the age of six or seven. Sealants have a lifespan of three to five years, providing efficient long-term cavity prevention, with replacements offered at the age of 12 or 13.

Fillings
Detecting a cavity in its early stages enables us to repair the tooth before the decay advances to the nerve and triggers discomfort.
At London Dental House, we provide a range of options for our patients. As a children's practice, we select filling materials tailored to meet the diverse needs of our young patients, ensuring we can craft durable, fracture-resistant fillings.
Composite fillings
Composite is a tooth-coloured resin with a putty-like consistency that can be shaped to precisely fit the tooth. These white fillings aren't just ideal for adults seeking a natural, metal-free appearance; they're also excellent for children.
Unlike silver or amalgam fillings, white fillings are minimally invasive and don't necessitate the removal of healthy tooth tissue, resulting in less drilling. Composite material solidifies rapidly, making the procedure extremely convenient with minimal downtime.
By using composite material, we can efficiently and effectively restore the strength of teeth while preserving natural aesthetics.
Baby teeth restorations
Our young patients are excited about the introduction of Twinky Star Fillings, innovative fluoride-releasing fillings tailored for baby teeth.
Made from a special compomer-based material, these fillings are uniquely designed for children's primary teeth. Available in a spectrum of colours including pink, blue, green, yellow, and purple, Twinky Star fillings offer a playful touch to dental care.
Twinky Star fillings are not only toxicologically safe and user-friendly but also release fluoride, fortifying and safeguarding the treated tooth.
